ABOUT
Born in the Winter of 85 in Mingo County WV, Alex Blankenship was brought into this world with a strong musical background. His mom, aunts, uncle, cousins, and then some, all sang and played music in church. From the age of 5, Alex has had music in his veins. From beating pots and pan drum kits to learning his first instrument, the piano.
Alex would go on to play and pursue music his entire life. He has always been a song writer for many genres of music. He now plays several instruments including guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, banjo, just to name a few. Music has been a very big part in Alex's life as a way to escape and deal with the pains and stress that life brings.
In the summer of 2018, Alex decided to fully pursue his own dream of producing his own full length album and going on tour to play his music for others to hear. After getting his feet wet with a few shows and venues in 2018, Alex stepped full steam ahead into 2019, and stayed booked with shows all around West Virginia and Kentucky. His first album, Waves, has thus far featured 2 number one hits on WXCC radio (96.5 FM) for the top 5 at 5 count downs for several weeks in a row.
With 2019 coming to a close, Alex looks forward to a huge and successful 2020. There is a new album on the way, and plans to expand touring into other surrounding state. Alex finds his inspiration for his songs by singing about what life brings forth. He had alot to sing about while making "Waves," and there's even more to come with his next album! Stay tuned!
